Frequently Asked Questions

The Program

What does a typical Wednesday morning look like?

Our sessions run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The morning flows through several stages:

  • 10:00 – 10:45 AM: Arrival followed by fine motor crafts and activities
  • 10:45 – 11:45 AM: Group time, snacks, and gross motor exploration or outdoor play
  • 11:45 AM – 12:00 PM: Parent Connect while children enjoy a final period of free play
What do I need to bring for my child and myself?

Since this is an outdoor program that runs rain or shine, please come prepared for the elements:

  • Snacks for your children to enjoy during our designated snack and circle time
  • A blanket to sit on during group activities
  • Weather-appropriate clothing to ensure everyone stays comfortable while exploring
Can I drop my children off and leave?

This is primarily a parent-led outdoor program where "parents connect and kids explore". A key component of our schedule is the Parent Connect & Wind Down period, which provides a space for adults to walk alongside one another in their shared journey.

Because the program is designed for families to connect, we encourage you to stay; however, drop-offs may be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

What type of faith-based program is this?

Roots and Wings is an outdoor and faith-based program designed for families to connect and explore together. Our curriculum is rooted in a non-denominational Christian background.

For the Children: We teach "easy liturgy"—simple rhythms of worship and prayer—that they can use independently and share with their family and friends.

For the Guardians: During our dedicated Parent Circle Time, we reflect on faith-based readings focused on families and the goal of raising a "team" that is on mission for God.
